Timeline with students on TimeToast
TimeToast is a great way to have students create a time line by incorporating technology.
Having students memorize dates of important events aren't beneficial for students. The idea of creating a TimeToast time line will be to have the students understand the chronology (order) of events and to have great information for each event that happens.
The idea of TimeToast is to have a time line of different events and when you click on a specific event a window pops up with a paragraph explaining what happened during the event.
In these paragraphs under each event you can have students simply describe in detail what happened during the event. You can have the students include why the event occurred, how did it affect everyone involved,
The importance of this activity is to have the students question about the event that is happening. Simply giving the event a date and a brief history isn't enough to have good historical learning. The possibility of posing the question would would have happened if any event didn't happen can promote good historical thinking by students by having them think of different outcomes in history.
